Privacy Policy
Abiva ("the app") is an Android app for making greeting images and videos. This policy explains what information the app uses, where it goes and the choices you have. The app is published by Venkata Satya Siva Pratap Reddy Mukku ("we", "us").
In short
- There are no accounts and no login.
- Your photos, names and messages stay on your phone. We never upload them.
- Ads and app analytics are provided by Google, which receives standard device and usage information.
- We never sell your personal information.
1. Information that stays on your phone
When you make a greeting, the app uses:
- Photos you take or choose. The background is removed on your phone using Google ML Kit, which runs entirely on the device. Photos are never uploaded to us or to anyone else.
- Names and messages you type.
- The greetings you make (images and videos), saved in the app's private storage so you can find them in "My greetings".
- Your settings, such as language, country and reminders. The country is detected on your phone from your SIM card, mobile network or phone region, only to show your country's festivals and dates; it is not sent to us.
This information is stored only in the app's private storage on your phone. You can delete any greeting in "My greetings". Uninstalling the app deletes all of it. A greeting leaves your phone only when you choose to share it or save it to your gallery.
2. Information collected by services we use
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Free users see ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, device model, app usage and approximate location to show and measure ads. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy choices for ads. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings. Pro members see no ads. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
App analytics and crash reports (Google Firebase)
We use Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Remote Config to understand how the app is used, fix crashes and update app settings without a new release. These services may collect an app installation ID, device model, operating system version, app version, approximate location derived from your IP address, crash details and in-app events. Examples of events are "a greeting was created" (with the design and occasion) and "a greeting was shared". They never include your photos, names or messages. See the Firebase privacy information.
Subscriptions (Google Play)
Abiva Pro is bought through Google Play. Google processes your payment; we never see your card or payment details. The app receives only the status of your subscription so it can unlock Pro features. See the Google Privacy Policy.
Downloading designs (Cloudflare)
Greeting designs are downloaded from templates.abiva.app, which is delivered by Cloudflare. As with any website, Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver the files and protect the service. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
3. Permissions
- Internet: to download designs, show ads and check your subscription.
- Notifications: for festival reminders. You can turn them off in Settings → Festival reminders or in your phone's settings.
- Storage (Android 8 and 9 only): to save greetings to your gallery when you tap Save.
The app does not request camera or photo library permission. When you add a photo, Android's own camera app or photo picker opens, and the app receives only the one photo you choose.
4. How we use information
We use information to provide and improve the app, show ads to free users, provide Pro features, fix problems, and understand which designs and features people enjoy. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your photos, names or messages for any purpose other than making your greeting on your phone.
5. Data retention
Information on your phone stays until you delete it or uninstall the app. Analytics and crash data are kept by Google according to its retention settings and then deleted. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to help you.
6. Children
Abiva is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, or to object to its use. These include rights under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, the EU and UK GDPR, Brazil's LGPD and similar laws. Because we do not hold your photos, names or messages, most of your data is already under your control on your phone. For anything else, email us and we will respond within 30 days.
8. Security
All downloads use encrypted connections (HTTPS). Your greetings are kept in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above. For important changes, we will also tell you in the app.
